My nappy cake story...

Baby-Cakes has been borne out of a labour of love and a passion for perfection! Having a background in marketing (and an annoying habit of always want to improve things), I knew there were people out there who would love nappy cakes and that was where the 'empire' began.

I wanted to use my skills to to create something which looked both visually stunning but was also filled will useful things for mum and baby, rather than things which would get thrown into the back of a drawer. I started off buying nappies, teddies and some ribbon and was totally bitten by the nappy cake making bug. I suddenly found that I had a small range on my hands (and running out of space in our dining room!) and so phase 1 of the Baby-Cakes website was launched.

To my amazement, within days of having the website up and running, I'd received my first few sales, and I've never looked backed since. The success of the nappy cakes has now allowed me to expand into offering Baby Shower supplies and baby gifts. It's a dream job being surrounded by cute furry stuffed toys, rolls of ribbon and nappies all day and also allows me the other very important job of being 'mummy'.

I have tried to create a simple range which caters for all budgets. Our items are thoughtful and practical and beautifully presented. I pride myself on being a perfectionist, and would expect you to be at least 100% happy with your purchase. Each cake is 'freshly baked' to order, and carefully handfinished. I love making nappy cakes - it's a delight knowing that they are going to a new mum and baby, and something that's guaranteed to bring a smile.

Although supermarket nappies are probably on a par nowadays with the main brands, they do not go into Baby-Cakes nappy cakes. I do not believe they create the right perception for such a beautiful gift. Only the best nappies for those cute bottoms! For those amongst us with a concern for landfill and environmentally friendly products, we offer Naturecare degradable nappy upgrades on all our nappy cake range.
